Needwant return after a brief summer hiatus to their regular home of Basing House for a special party that looks back at two of the labels earliest releasing artists, Eddie C & Pete Herbert.

Eddie C has been a name on everyone’s lips over the past twelve months. His second album on ‘Country City Country’ on Toshiya Kawasaki’s ‘Endless Flight’ label sees a collection of his work mostly wrote in his home country of Canada and then re-worked in his new home in Berlin presented for the first time. An avid record collector since 1987 Eddie C’s in-depth knowledge of Hip-Hop, Soul and Funk is a testament to his foremost years producing Instrumental Hip-Hop where he created over six albums worth of material in the rocky mountains of Canada. After drawing inspiration in 2005 from his now contemporaries such as Mark E, Lindstrom and Prins Thomas, simply adding a 4/4 kick as he puts it, made things ‘Delightfully Cosmic’ and has formed him one of the most refreshing sounds in dance music today. Fast-forward to 2013 after two legendary guest spots on ‘Beats In Space’, two albums on Endless Flight and releases on the likes of ‘Wolf Music’, ‘Sleazy Beats’, ‘Home Taping’ and ‘Jiscomusic’, Eddie C returns for a rare UK appearance exclusively for Needwant.

It would only be fitting to accompany such an accomplished selector and producer with another; cue Pete Herbert a man who’s solo work and work with Phil Mison as ‘Reverso 68’ and with Baby G as ‘LSB’ holds him in high regard amongst many of electronics music key figure heads. The former proprietor of ‘Altas Records’ in Soho and now regular DJ across Europe and the world; we are excited to have Pete come play for us in his home of London.

This party marks the beginning of Needwants Autumn/ Winter which will see the likes of Terrence Parker, Medlar, James Fox, Compuphonic and Kiwi making their debuts on the label, plus welcome returns to Ejeca, Nicholas and Urulu. Stay tuned for more exciting shows and releases coming soon.
